- Accounting II
-
This is an advanced course that expands on the topics learned in the first year course while adding new topics about management accounting, cost accounting, not-for-profit accounting, and financial analysis. The study of a second year of accounting helps qualify students for jobs and careers at higher levels than one-year study would allow. It is also excellent background and preparation for college business and accounting courses and business majors.
In addition, the cost, budgeting, and financial analysis topics are useful tools for the new entrepreneur. Some of the special features of this course include: Business Ethics, Careers in Accounting, Personality Profiles, Spreadsheet Options, and Applied Mathematics.
Workbook problems and a business simulation project are used for a practical approach to learning. Included are journals, ledgers, cash payments, sales, accounts receivable and payable, business reports, payroll records, and taxes. Accounting II is NOT just for business students. This is a must course for academic students who plan to further their education in a variety of professional areas in the business field. For nonacademic students, this course offers practical, everyday understanding of personal record keeping. This class will also teach you how to communicate well, pay attention to detail, improve problem-solving abilities, listen well, and interpret data.
Students will be able to access assignments and announcements in Google Classroom.
